Location: Newbury, NH
Architect: Richard Monahon, Jr. Architects
Contract Amount: $97,525
Ingram Construction was brought in to renovate the west veranda of this 22-room colonial revival style home. The work included a new cedar shingle roof and flashing, new gutters and renovation of existing copper leaders. Woodworking repairs were also completed on the eaves, beams and columns. Replacement of damaged brick patio surface including bricks and mortar were completed as well.
This 1,000 acre early 20th-century historic estate includes numerous gardens of natural and cultured features making it a popular summer tourist location. The land was initially acquired in 1888 by John Milton Hay, private secretary to Abraham Lincoln, and remained in the family until 1987. In 2008 an independent non-profit group became Owners, now known as The Fells.
